My name is Monique Watson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor/Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. My desire to help children reach their goals as a Licensed Texas Teacher and years of traveling the world and learning about different cultures as a military wife encouraged me to pursue a Master’s in Counseling from Prairie View AMU.
As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist I will guide you in acknowledging those thoughts that are causing you mental pain and teach you coping skills that will help you to move forward. Goal setting along with a change in mindset will help you to accomplish the outcomes that you desire. These are just a few of the client centered techniques which will provide problem solving methods utilizing the client’s own strengths.
I enjoy working with children ages 11 and up, adults, couples, and families. I have worked as a group therapist for a psychiatric outpatient clinic, private practices, and a pediatric therapeutic company where I specialized in major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar, anxiety, depression rooted in trauma, life transitions.
I realize that making the decision to come into therapy may be scary but it shows that you are resilient and that you want to do what is best for your mental health. I cannot do the work for you but I can walk the path of discovery with you.
